National Clean-Up-Day 2021
17-18 September 2021 National CLEAN-UP-DAY
The National Clean-Up Day is part of the international movement “Let’s Do it!” that was found in 2008 to tackle environmental problems related to mismanaged waste with the collective cleaning actions. Switzerland, joind by more than 180 countries, participates in this movement.
In collaboration with the CLAFG and Maisons de Quartier
– Participants: Individuals, Associations, Schools, Entreprises
– Local actions: Cleaning of buildings’ bases, adjacent streets and sidewalks with eco-friendly products.
– Place: Quartiers
– Global Action: Cultural and eco-sportive actions, plogging actions (1), organized in collaboration with the neighborhood sport centers.
– Place: la Plaine de Plainpalais (17 September), Place des Nations (18 September)
1 Plogging is a combination of jogging with picking up litter (Swedish: plocka upp). A jogger is supposed to be equipped with a waste bag and gloves to collect the waste that is found on the jogging pass. This exercise allows to variate the body movements by adding bending, squats and stretching to the main exercice.
The project Bien dans Ma Ville.
The aim of this joint project is to promote the regular practice of the physical activities like the plugging and the walk against littering, notably for their simultaneous beneficial effect on both the health and the environment.
